whole cloth quilting
I haven't been posting new entries for a while. I've been glued to the computer learning Adobe Elements program. I've used many other graphics and paint programs but this one seems very good for designing quilt blocks from your own art or photographs. I especially like the cookie cutter tool. Since I really enjoy designing on the computer, printing my own art has always intriqued me but the size limitations and the cost of printer fabric and ink is just not that cost effective. I started researching the internet to find printers that print on fabric and to my great surprise I found a great site that does small fabric orders including fatquarters and fabric by the yard with no minimum order. I put together some trial designs to send to them for printing. I sent them the files yesterday and am waiting for them to send me a proof for approval. I can't wait to see the quality of the final printed fabric. Here are photos of the designs I did. I will show photos latter on of the finished fabric and the finished art quilts that I make from them.
I call this one "Spirit of the Hawk"

No name for this one yet! Send me your suggestions

This one is from a photo of a small painting I did that has been sold. I brought it into Corel
and put two borders around it and am having it printed on fabric to make a small art quilt
out of it. Can't wait to see how that works out.
Hope you come back and checkout the finished product when I get them done.

What a coincidence. I am making a quilt for my son and am showcasing his favourite stamps and I chosen to use the printing on fabric method to achieve.
