Fabric Art
Gary is gone all day golfing probably until 7:30, so the day is free to play. The other evening I did a quick abstracted painting in Corel Paint. I decided this morning to use it for an art quilt. I printed the painting out in color 8 1/2 x 11 for a color guide and one enlarged in line only for a cutting guide. It is 11 x 14. I went through my fabric stash and found fabrics in the right colors and values. Fused pieces to Wonder Under fusible web. I first traced my shapes on to the paper backing of the web in reverse. Then I cut out pieces according to which ones needed to be ironed on in the first layer. Then added second layers of fabric, mostly the smaller detail shapes. After doing all that it was time for a lunch break. Decided to do this entry while what I had done was fresh in my mind. Here are photos after everything was fused. Now it's time to do some decorative stitching.
